Files and how to manage them

Different types of notes and activities can be added to every file displayed in Bauhub. To start adding notes, click on the file name in the file folder to open the file in the Bauhub file viewer.
In the top menu of the file viewer, it is possible to choose between two different annotation modes: “Annotate” and “Shapes”. Both options open a submenu displaying various annotation tools, such as lines, arrows, text, and different shapes. After selecting the desired tool from the submenu, for example an arrow shape, the annotation can be added directly onto the file and later edited if needed.

In addition to annotations, the right side of the file viewer displays the Activity Feed, which collects all comments, attachments, tasks, and other activities related to the file. The Activity Feed allows users to discuss directly on the file and review the activity history associated with it.

To add new activities, use the options located in the top-left corner of the file viewer: “Add Attachment”, “Add Comment”, or “Create Task”. Selecting one of these options opens the corresponding activity creation view. When adding a comment, it is possible to write a comment and attach a file from the existing project. When creating a task, you can select the preferred workspace or board and link the task to a specific marked location on the file.
For all activities, it is possible to choose whether the mark is added as a single point or as a larger marked area. In addition, the color and shape of the mark can be customized to help visually distinguish different activities on the file.

All added activities are automatically displayed in the Activity Feed. Existing activities can be viewed there and managed using the options “Hide”, “Resolve”, “Edit”, or “Delete”. Once an activity is marked as resolved, it is hidden from the default view. To display resolved activities again, click the filter icon in the Activity Feed and select “Show resolved”.
It is also possible to filter activities in the Activity Feed by their type. For example, users can choose to display all activities or only comments.
